It's apparent that introducing rp fighting this early in the site has been a mistake. Marqonium is still young and fragile as we have a simple foundation to the story that has yet to expand and only few characters that have been developed. In order for there to be conflict and opposition, we need heros developed to defend Marqonium. Because of this reason, I'm asking that members at this time only rp "good" characters. There are many outstanding "good" characters that have recently been created and have yet to be developed. And, as many have expressed in one way or another, people are enjoying the story aspect to Marqonium thus far. As it is now, there are only 3-4 characters that are somewhat developed. What do they have in common? They're all "good" characters. And everyone involved is enjoying themselves right now. And, as I have mentioned, we NEED good characters to fight the bad. Introducing mastermind villains at this time will only damage the story without a strong opposing force. So I'm encouraging everyone, for now, to have fun making a few "heros". There are yet TONS of places that have yet to be posted in or explored. And I have a few ideas on some adventures yet to come before a major threat appears to Marqonium.
Another thing that has been discussed is making npc bad guys. It's not easy to develop characters without seeing them under pressure from a little opposition. However, this topic is sensitive as everyone can imagine. Eventually- not now, but soon, we will have an admin throw in pawns in the form of npcs when necessary for story development. These will be disposable people/monsters that pose little threat, as most will die or flee with the small consequence of non-fatal wounds issued. Later, after we have more characters and a solid foundation, active members will have full reign of creating villainous characters that may be as threatening as they choose (within the rules and limits, of course). My hope is that members may develop "friendly" relationships by then and not be so quick to offense. Also, I'm encouraging those who still wish to rp fight in the meantime to do so ONLY in the sparring section. I think it's a good idea for members to brush up on their rp fighting skills and practice in order for there to be less mishaps such as miscommunication, etc. later in more serious battles to come. Good rp fighting entails the ability to post in intricate detail so there is no question as to what is being performed or how. Obviously this is not always easy, and therefore takes lots and lots of practice. Feel free to get started!
I offer this new idea in hopes that it will solve most discrepancies. I know there will always be things that need attention as Marqonium grows and develops. I'm counting on everyone's feedback so that we can continue making it a better place of enjoyment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
